year (renewable contract)
Job requirement: A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or MIS is required. 12 years of experience in Information Technology. The candidate will work with IT project delivery of applications and systems, developing the technical architecture and designs of the solutions as well as developing test strategies and non-functional requirements. The candidate will develop, recommend, and assist in the creating of technology strategies; publishing configuration and deployment guides, and provide recommendations and functional requirements to the Business and Infrastructure Technology parts of IT. Individual needs to be a self-starter, work with minimal direction, be a team player, and technically grounded in both mainframe, open system?s data structure and data management concepts, especially pertaining to systems such as Financial, Human Resources, and Supply Chain. Candidate must be able to articulate the value of enterprise solutions, storage resource management, high availability, and disaster recovery to senior management. Job functions will include facilitating the design and deployment of business and IT back-up and recovery needs, provide hardware and software evaluations and planning to meet those needs. Individual must have the ability to run and manage a large project. Candidate should have a solid understanding of business cases and applying technology to business solutions, have the ability to organize, motivate, communicate, provide direction, and produce results through teams of highly technical associates. The candidate will participate as a member of NU?s Enterprise Architecture team, participating in the development of overall corporate strategies and architectures, providing hands-on technical leadership of major systems development initiatives and promote the strategic use of information technology within the NU IT Computing environment.Working knowledge of the IT organization?s business practices and strategies as well as familiarity with the company?s products and resources. ?Working knowledge of the project management methodology. Focus is on managing oneself and relationships with the project team. Applies the project management methodology in all aspects of small to medium projects. Documents projects according to the suggested level of rigor for small to medium size projects. ?Working level knowledge of the architecture process - working knowledge associated with creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems or situations, and working knowledge in the utilization of architecture models in documenting a business? architecture. ?Working knowledge of conflict management and negotiation techniques.
