For Sale: 1977 Ford Bronco in Berlin, Connecticut for sale in Kensington, CT
Vehicle Description 1977 Ford Bronco Sport I always love to give as much background as possible on vehicles that cross my desk, however, sometimes, it's just not known.
We do know this Bronco was built in MI in February of 1977, was dispatched to NY and has been in it's current ownership for about 2 years.
In those two years the current owner has done the brakes, installed new trans cooling lines, new tailpipe and muffler and had a set of 235/75/R15 Goodyear Trail Runner ATs mounted to the stock wheels.
This truck originally came with the 302/AutoTrans set up.
It is believed that the engine was replaced, but we aren't sure of that.
It does start very easily, runs strong, doesn't smoke or leak.
In stock configuration, the 302 puts out 135 HP and 243 lb ft of torque and puts all that to the ground via a C4 3 speed auto transmission and a Dana 20 T-case, routed to a Ford 9 rear and a Dana 44 front axle, fitted with 2:
50-1 gears.
As a 77, this Bronco Sport came equipped with front disc brakes and rear drums, this unit set up with a Hydro-Boost power brake system.
This Bronco also has power steering.
She is a very strong, solid driver and the 4x4 does work correctly, with manual locking hubs on the front axle.
The interior is in very good condition with the only real issue a small tear on the driver seat bolster.
The white vinyl seats (front buckets, rear bench) and green carpet are original to the truck, the roll bar is as well.
Not original are the AutoMeter gauges (Oil pressure, Water temp and Accurate Instruments Tach), center console and Eclipse stereo with marine grade rear speakers.
The odometer reads 27,000 miles and that is believed to be rolled over, although, the interior is in rather good shape for that mileage, minimal wear on carpets and pedals and some chipped paint on the metal dash board.
On the outside, the Dark Jade Green paint was reapplied by a previous owner after the lower quarters were replaced and I have to say is this truck's worse feature, as it has fish eyes through out.
Although from 10 feet away they are pretty much unnoticeable.
There is also one small spot of rust coming through the lower driver door skin and the quarter repair is noticeable on the right side.
Overall, this color with the colonial white hard top looks great, especially when matched to the green and colonial white seats/dash and at 10 feet, she looks awesome.
Looking underneath the truck yields no surprises either.
Although there is surface rust along the frame rails, axle housings and some underbody sheet-metal, there is no rot/rust through.
This truck can be hopped into and totally enjoyed as is, take her for some light 4 wheeling and not worry about the paint or other bits, or bring her out to the Friday night cruise and you're sure to get admirers.
If you want to go the show route, there are awesome bones to start a restoration with.
These great, 1st generation SUVs have really increased in value of late and this one has an asking price of $52,000 obo.
